Hidden Gems
The South Brunswick Public Library (SBPL) is in process of renovating interior space following an extensive expansion project. Hidden Gems, a local group of track singers who perform predominantly for community service and charitable causes, is arranging an event to raise funds for the Library. This is an appeal for your participation and assistance in making this event successful.
In the last couple of years, the SBPL has undergone extensive renovation and expansion. These expansions were primarily funded by local tax revenue and government grants; however, the cost of the interior facilities, such as furniture, storage, display, and computers have been provided by donors to the Library and its Foundation. Funds collected so far have been used to provide the most pressing and immediate needs of the SBPL such as the lobby, public service desks, children’s wing, teen areas and computer labs. However, a significant portion of the library still remains to be completed.
SBPL is seeking funding to finish up and open the 5000 square foot lower level of the library. The goal is to get this completed at the earliest so as to relocate staff workspace, freeing up more of the main level for public use, remodel meeting rooms, create additional facilities, and possibly a cafe. Your support in this endeavor will significantly contribute to and enhance the services offered to the community by the library.
SBPL still needs large sums of money to complete the necessary renovation to provide continued excellent service to its residents. Hidden Gems would like to assist SBPL Foundation in this cause and raise at least $30,000 through this event. The Middle School Auditorium has a seating capacity of 500. In order to encourage and attract maximum community participation and attendance at the event, tickets will need to be affordably priced. Gate collections will, therefore, have to be fortified with substantial support from benevolent corporate sponsors such as your organization. So far, we have the following sponsorships and commitments:
The event will be an evening of musical medley of track songs from famous Bollywood collections and local artists singing western numbers. There will even be opportunities to bid on requested performances. The group, Hidden Gems, comprises of several female and male artists ranging in age from 16 to 60 years!! The event is set for November 18th, 2006 and will be held at Crossroads South Middle School Auditorium.
Hidden Gems is a local volunteer group of track singers who offer their passion of singing and talent in music to the cause of community service. Hidden Gems was formed in January 2005 with a debut program that raised more than $10K for the Tsunami victims. The group has since successfully produced two more fund raisers -for Katrina victims and Asha for Education, a non-profit organization that supports the education of orphaned and under-privileged children in India. Besides these major events, Hidden Gems has performed in several smaller events to provide entertainment that raised additional funds disbursed to various charitable organizations.
SBPL helps provide for a strong, well educated community, all of which benefits local businesses. Your support for this event and the cause will reflect your company’s commitment in promoting the development of the township community, which is responsible for supporting your business. By offering assistance to the local library, you have an opportunity to demonstrate your responsible and active involvement in the community’s outreach mission.
We, the Hidden Gems, request your support and participation in this fundraiser that serves your own township and its entire community. Your maximum possible participation with a generous sponsorship will be highlighted in many ways:
